Check a gap between a compression ring and a flute, having measured it by the flat probe, as shown in the figure 2.110.

Standard gap:

compression ring No. 1 – 0,020–0,070 mm;

compression ring No. 2 – 0,020–0,060 mm;

oil scraper ring:

1AZ-FE – 0,070–0,150 mm;

2AZ-FE – 0,070–0,150 mm.

NOTE For an oil scraper ring the gap is determined by scrapers. If the gap is more than admissible, replace the piston.
