2.2.7.2. Check of a radial side play of the conrod bearing

Uncover a rod and check a radial gap of the conrod bearing.

Fig. 2.96. Bolts of fastening of a cover of a rod

Check combination of tags on a rod and a cover of a rod to provide in the subsequent correctness of assembly. If tags are absent, then apply with a core them on covers and on rods. Turn off bolts of fastening of a cover of a rod (fig. 2.96).

Fig. 2.97. Removal of a cover of a rod

Turn off bolts of fastening of a cover of a rod. Uncover a rod, shaking it for conrod bolts (fig. 2.97).

Fig. 2.98. Installation of plastic caliber

Check a condition of working surfaces of a conrod neck and inserts. In the presence of scratches and zadir replace inserts. If necessary to a pereshlifuyta of a neck or replace a bent shaft. Install plastic caliber for measurement of gaps in sliding bearings across a conrod neck (fig. 2.98).
Establish a rod cover, having combined adjusting tags, and tighten fastening nuts (see fig. 2.97). Remove the lower cover of a rod, having turned off nuts. Measure the maximum width of the flattened calibration wire, having determined by it the size of a radial side play of a connecting rod.
Standard side play of the conrod bearing – 0,024–0,048 mm.
Limit side play of the conrod bearing – 0,080 mm.
If the gap is more than maximum, replace bearings. If necessary replace a bent shaft.
