Clear each radical neck and inserts. Check the surface of each radical neck and inserts for existence of pointed corrosion and scratches. If the neck or an insert are injured, replace inserts. If necessary to a pereshlifuyta or replace a bent shaft. Establish a bent shaft in a bed of the block of cylinders. Put plastic caliber for measurement of gaps in sliding bearings on each radical neck (fig. 2.120).

Establish covers of radical bearings (fig. 2.121).

Tighten fastening bolts in the order specified in the figure 2.122.
Uncover radical bearings. Measure the maximum width of the flattened calibration wire, having determined by it the size of a radial gap.
Standard gap – 0,017–0,040 mm.
Limit gap – 0,050 mm.
If the gap is more than maximum, replace bearings. If necessary replace a bent shaft.

When replacing inserts of the nominal size it is necessary to use inserts of one dimensional group. There is several standard dimensional groups of the inserts designated "1", "2", "3", "4". The dimensional group of an insert is defined, proceeding from the sum of the dimensional groups specified on the block of cylinders and cranked to a shaft (fig. 2.123).


Example: a tag "4" on the block of cylinders + a tag "3" on cranked to a shaft = the sum "7" (a necessary insert No. 3).
Remove the caliber remains from the working surfaces of a radical neck and an insert.
Remove a bent shaft.
Having lifted a bent shaft, take the top inserts of radical bearings and the top persistent half rings from the block of cylinders.
