Measure length of fifteen links of a chain in the tense state by a caliper. If length of the site of a chain fifteen links is more than maximum, replace a chain.

NOTE Make three or more measurements on any sites of a chain.

Wrap up a chain around an asterisk. Measure diameter of an asterisk on rollers by a caliper, as shown in the figure 2.74.

Minimum diameter of an asterisk:

- the camshaft – 97,3 mm;

- a bent shaft – 51,6 mm.

If diameter does not correspond to specified, replace asterisks with a chain.

Check a boot of a natyazhitel and an uspokoitel of a chain of the drive of the mechanism of gas distribution for wear. The maximum wear should not exceed 1 mm.
