When the engine is warmed up to the working temperature and switched off, check oil level on the probe (fig. 1.164).

1. For obtaining the right indication the car has to stand on the flat platform. After switching off of the engine wait several minutes until oil flows down back in the engine pallet.

2. Extend the probe and wipe, holding with rags for the end of the probe.

3. Again insert the probe – insert against the stop, otherwise the indication will be wrong.

4. Extend the probe and check oil level, holding the end of the probe with rags.

If oil is lower or slightly higher than the lower level, add oil of the same type, as in the engine.

Uncover an oil-filling mouth and add oil in the small portions, checking level the probe. For addition of oil it is recommended to use a funnel.

For reference the approximate volume of oil corresponding to marks between the lower and top level in the probe is provided below.

When level becomes normal, establish into place a cover of an oil-filling mouth and tighten a hand.

    Engine 1AZ-FE 1,0

    Engines 2AZ-FE and 1MZ-FE 1,5

Marking of identification of oils.

For simplification of the choice of oil on some canisters it is applied one or both registered API markings.

The symbol of classification of API is on the outer side of a canister.

At the top of the label by means of designations quality of oil on API classification (American Petroleum Institute-Amerikansky oil institute), for example, SL is specified. The viscosity class on SAE, for example, of SAE 10W-30 is specified in the center of the label. The inscription "Energy-Conserving" below specifies that oil has the properties increasing fuel profitability.

ILSAC certification marking (International Lubricant Standardization and Approval Committee – the International committee on the statement and standardization of lubricant oils) is specified in front of a canister.

For ensuring the corresponding greasing of the engine it is offered to use the Toyota Genuine Motor Oil engine oil (the original Toyota engine oil) which underwent special testing and is approved for all Toyota engines.
