1.2.6.14. Side airbags and shtorkovy SRS airbags
Side SRS airbags (Supplemental Restraint System-auxiliary a security system) and shtorkovy airbags are intended for the ensuring additional protection of the driver, the forward passenger and passengers sitting behind on side seats in addition to the main protection provided with seat belts.
In response to strong side blow side airbags and shtorkovy SRS airbags work by inflation together with seat belts for reduction of a trauma. Side SRS airbags help to reduce, mainly, injuries of a thorax of the driver or the forward passenger, and shtorkovy SRS airbags, mainly, help to reduce injuries of the head of the driver, the forward passengers or passengers sitting behind on side seats. The side airbag and the shtorkovy SRS airbag on the party of the passenger are put in action even if on a front seat or on a back seat there is no passenger.
Shtorkovy airbags can be put in action even if side airbags will not work.
The system of side airbags and shtorkovy SRS airbags can not work if the car undergoes side crash under a certain corner or to collision in that place of a body of the car where shock influence does not influence salon, as shown in the drawing.
Side airbags and shtorkovy SRS airbags are designed for inflation at strong side blow to which the zone of salon will undergo.
For safety of all passengers they have to be always properly fastened by seat belts.
