All cars are supplied with the identification data of manufacturer placed in various parts of a body. The engine of the car is also supplied with the identification number which is usually beaten out on the case. Identification number of the vehicle is put on the plate which is specially intended for this purpose and a certified sticker (fig. 1.17).

Serial number of the engine is beaten out on the block of cylinders of the engine, serial number of the transmission is beaten out on its case (fig. 1.18).
